Kent E. Boots, ACTAR, has been awarded Full Accreditation as a Traffic Accident Reconstructionist by the Accreditation Commission for Traffic Accident Reconstruction (ACTAR #1170). He has 16+ years of experience in Traffic Collision Investigation and Reconstruction, 14 of which were as an on-scene investigator for a major California Sheriff's Department. He has qualified and testified numerous times as an expert in traffic collision reconstruction at trial and depositions and is a court-recognized expert in forensic mapping, total station technology, and CAD scale diagrams including 3D diagrams.
Kent has taught all levels of collision investigation & reconstruction. He has been a part-time instructor for Santa Ana City College, an adjunct faculty member for Riverside Community College, and a part-time instructor for the Law Enforcement Training Division of the Office of the Sheriff of Contra Costa County. He is certified by CAD Zone as a Master Trainer in CrashZone/CrimeZone, FireZone, PocketZone, and QuickScene. He is certified by the Bosch/Vetronix Corporation as a trainer for the Crash Data Retrieval System Technician Course. He is a Professional Society of Forensic Mapping (PSFM) approved instructor.
He is currently a guest lecturer for the Henry C. Lee Institute of Forensic Science, University of New Haven (CT). His courses include Forensic Mapping and Diagramming with CrashZone/CrimeZone. He also owns and operates FactualDiagrams.com providing quality forensic mapping training, and crash and crime scene diagramming software training throughout the Western United States.
Mr. Boots is a member of the California Association of Accident Reconstruction Specialists (CAARS), and is currently the Chairperson on the Board of Directors. He is a full member of the Professional Society of Forensic Mapping (PSFM). He is also a member of the Northern California Fraud Investigators Association (NCFIA), the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), and the Southwestern Association of Technical Accident Investigators (SATAI).
